“It is vital that we take full advantage of the opportunities presented by the EU Framework Programme in the time ahead,” states Ms Aasland. She is confident that Norwegian researchers, research institutions and companies are well on the way to preparing themselves for the large round of funding announcements this summer.
“We give high priority to achieving widespread Norwegian participation in EU research activities in our national policy for the internationalisation of research,” Ms Aasland emphasises. An evaluation carried out by the Norwegian Institute for Studies in Innovation, Research and Education (NIFU STEP) highlights the fact that active participation in the EU Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development brings with it many benefits, in the form of good networking opportunities, outstanding research and the development of new technology and innovative solutions.
