The activities of the Research Council of Norway are based on our vision that research expands the boundaries of what we know, understand and can achieve.
The Research Council's overall budget for 2009 totals NOK 6 165 million. The largest funding allocations come from the Ministry of Education and Research and the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The Research Council is divided into four divisions: Science, Strategic Priorities, Innovation and Administration. The Executive Board, which is formally appointed by the King in Council of State, is the Research Council's highest authority.
The Research Council of Norway's main office is located at Stenberggata 26 in Oslo.
The Research Council also has regional offices in various parts of Norway, as well as a liaison office in Brussels.
